Welcome to my new blog!
The turning point for me was about two years ago, when, fresh out of college, I found that I had nothing holding me back from going anywhere in the world. I had landed my first full-time job and had just passed the three-month period before I could start using vacation days. For the first time in my life I wasn’t restricted by a class schedule. Most importantly I realized that I really didn’t have to sit around and wait for a suitable travel buddy who was willing and able to go with me and do all the same things I wanted to do. Who was to say I couldn’t just buy a plane ticket for myself with my own hard-earned money? What reason was there to not explore a new city on my own?
Nothing was more exciting and nerve-wracking than pulling the trigger on an insanely good deal on a flight to Boston and an amazing downtown hotel. Nothing was more rewarding than planning the perfect itinerary of all the places I wanted to see. And nothing was more memorable than the trip that resulted from all of it, blizzard and all (yes, I chose to go to Boston in February!).
A few trips later the whole cycle has become a part of my lifestyle. Family and friends are always asking where I’m off to next and how my planning is going. I’ve been told countless times that I should start a travel blog. I had tried my hand at blogging once while I was in college, but found that I just wasn’t traveling often enough to generate the content. Now here I am with a fresh start and a new outlook on travel, ready to share my adventures with the world. Follow along as I document my solo travels and tips for planning the best trips!
