Welcome to C to Shining C! My name is Caryn and I am a Philadelphia resident and hospitality industry professional. Booking and planning epic solo trips for myself has become a defining part of who I am. I’m always being asked about my travels and where I’m going next, so I decided to start this blog for anyone who has an interest in keeping up with my travels and learning about all the places that I go.
Right before I entered college I went on a life-changing trip to Italy & Greece. It inspired me to pursue a degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management, but also left me with a desire to travel the world even more, which was put on hold while I pursued my degree. Everything changed when I graduated and had my first full-time job. I had money, paid vacation time to use, and I wasn’t tied down to a class schedule for once. Nothing was stopping me from just picking up and going – so I went! And it turned out to be an amazing trip to Boston smack in the middle of two blizzards. I’m not even being sarcastic about that – it was really a great trip!
A few years later, I’m still crossing places off my bucket list, indulging in my interests of history, craft beer, nature, food, and the paranormal as I go.
